Choquequirao Trek & Machu Picchu 8D/7N

Note: This tour demand great physical effort and the level of this hike is HARD so we recommend only for people who already have experience walking for long stretches and highlands.

Day 1: Cusco - Cachora - Chikiska .

We pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 5:30 am and headed for the town of San Pedro de Cachora place where everyone will know who will accompany us throughout the trek ( cook, porters, carriers , assistant guide ) , we will have lunch in the sector Capuliyoq in camp Chikiska we can enjoy the fruit that grows in this area and a refreshing swim.

Day 2: Chikiska - Choquequirao

After a good breakfast we start the walk towards the archaeological group of Choquequirao , the whole journey will be difficult.

Lunch near the rural community of Marampata , arrive at our camp at about 5:00 pm where we will sleep in one of the Inca terraces, from which we see a beautiful sunset .

Day 3: Choquequirao - MAIZAL

In the morning visit the archaeological group , enjoy the guided for a period of 2 hours, averaging 10:00 am continue our walk , this day will be heavier because all day climb past the White River sector , lunch in this place , the campsite is 3 hours after lunch , camp in the area of Cornfield .

Day 4: Maizal - Yanama

During the course of this day we will ascend for a period of 3 hours, skirting the open Yanama descend , we stopped at the Victoria mines, as extra activity you can extract some silver blocks (very abundant mineral in that area ) , these mines today are abandoned , lunch will be by that sector. Then descend to our camp Yamana .

Day 5: Yanama - Collpa

The walk on this day will be moderated by the geography of the area , descending on some slopes where we observe a biodiversity lunch will be in the Totora that far 3 hours from the end of camp , after lunch hike to camp Lick in this place will find some locals that sell soft drinks , batteries and other items.

Day 6: Lick - Playa

The walk on this day will be very short but very attractive, and we will have the opportunity to take a refreshing dip in one of the waterfalls descending from the mountain, also enjoy the refreshing fruits like passion fruit, walk through coffee plantations and some bananas arrive at our camp at noon , lunch at the camp and have a free afternoon to relax .

Day 7: Playa - Hot Water

In the morning we start our trek, climb a small hill that leads to one of the small scattered archaeological sites in the area called Llaqtapata , here we see a carved rock that was carved to be used for astronomical purposes , lunch will be at the Hydropower sector , place where we board the train to take us to the town of Aguas Calientes, overnight at hotel.

Day 8: Machu Picchu - Cusco

After breakfast we board the bus to go to Machu Picchu, this archaeological enjoy the guided for a period of 2 hours, after which they will have enough to climb Huayna Picchu Mountain Time.

In the afternoon return to Cusco city , the train will travel for 2 hours arriving at Ollantaytambo at 8:15 pm and from there to Cusco 10:30 pm approx.
